Griddhakuta Hill, also known as Vultures Peak, is a revered site located in Rajgir, Bihar, India. It is historically significant in Buddhism as it was a favorite retreat for Lord Buddha, where he delivered several sermons. Griddhakuta gets its name from its resemblance to a vulture's beak; it provided an ideal setting for Buddha's discourses due to its tranquil and secluded surroundings. The hill is part of the Rajgir Hills, which are surrounded by lush greenery and offer panoramic views of the region. To reach the top, visitors can undertake a hike or use the chairlift service. The peak hosts the Peace Pagoda, built by the Japanese Nichiren sect, which features a golden Buddha statue. The site is also near the Saptparni Cave, where the first Buddhist council was held after Buddha's Mahaparinirvana. Pilgrims from all over the world visit Griddhakuta Hill to meditate and pay homage to Buddha's teachings.

Vulture shaped peak
The hill is shaped like a vulture and the views from the top are spectacular and magnificent. Best time to visit is winter as summers/middays can have scorching heat.
