Best Time To Visit Kannur Lighthouse (Kannur) In 2026 - 2027

Visit Kannur Lighthouse

Kannur Lighthouse is a prominent landmark and a tourist attraction situated in Kannur, Kerala, India. The optimal time to visit is between the months of October and March when the weather is most inviting. During this period, the climate is usually pleasant, with temperatures that are comfortable for outdoor activities. The monsoon season, which runs from June to September, is characterized by heavy rainfall, which can sometimes lead to restrictions on access to the lighthouse or limited visibility from its observation deck. Therefore, the winter months provide clear skies, cooler weather, and the best views of the Arabian Sea and surrounding landscapes.

Visitors should also consider planning their visit to coincide with the lighthouse's operational hours, which are typically from 10 AM to 6 PM on all days of the week. This schedule, however, can be subject to change, so it's advisable to check the latest timings before planning a visit. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the experience of climbing to the top of the lighthouse for panoramic vistas during these hours, and the earlier in the day you go, the less crowded it tends to be. Festivals like Theyyam, which occur between the months of November and May, can also add a cultural element to the trip, offering a unique opportunity to explore the region's rich heritage along with the natural beauty of the lighthouse surroundings.
