Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi is one of the most sacred temples dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is an ancient temple and a key fixture in the spiritual landscape of Hinduism. Comparable to the more famous temple of the same name in Varanasi, Kashi Vishwanath of Uttarkashi is also highly revered. Uttarkashi, meaning 'Kashi of the North', is often compared to Varanasi (also known as Kashi) in the context of religious significance. This deeply spiritual town is on the banks of the Bhagirathi River and the temple is situated at a height of 3,165 meters above sea level. The presiding deity in this temple is known as Vishwanath or Vishweshwara, meaning 'Ruler of The Universe'. A unique aspect of this temple is a trident (Trishul) that dates back to the time of the Mahabharata. Devotees from across the globe come to this sacred space for blessings and to perform various religious rituals.
