Komic Village, nestled at an altitude of 4587 meters, holds the distinction of being one of the highest villages in the world with a road. It's located in the cold desert valley of Spiti, in Himachal Pradesh, India. This quaint village is surrounded by stunning snow-clad mountains and offers panoramic views of the Spiti Valley. It's characterized by a serene ambiance, sparsely populated with households that embody the warmth of Spitian culture. The village has a significant Buddhist heritage, with the iconic Komic Monastery – the Tangyud Gompa – serving as a spiritual hub for Buddhists. This ancient monastery is believed to be over 500 years old and houses priceless Thangkas and scriptures. The harsh climate has shaped life here, resulting in a landscape that's both rugged and enchanting. Visitors can experience local life by staying in homestays, enjoying the simplicity, and savoring traditional organic cuisines. Komic's unique location, culture, and spirituality attract travelers seeking tranquility and an experience of a lifetime.

Beautiful walk around the village
It's a beautiful village. It snowed while we were at komic. The village is painted in red and black, yellow and orange. It's very ethnic. Take a leisurely stroll.
