Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India and has been a hub of culture and religion for centuries. The town is renowned for its sacred lake, the Pushkar Lake, around which hundreds of temples are built, including the rare Brahma Temple. But the Mahadeva Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, also holds a significant place in the hearts of devotees.

History of Mahadeva Temple Tourism

The history of tourism in Pushkar can be traced back to ancient times when sages and seers would visit this holy land for meditation and contemplation. In more recent history, Pushkar began to attract international attention during the Hippie Trail era of the 1960s and 1970s when it became a popular destination for those seeking spiritual experiences.

The temple, which is said to be more than 400 years old, showcases classic Rajasthani architecture and is considered amongst the most important Shiva temples in the region.
