Best Time To Visit Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park (Portblair) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park

The ideal time to visit Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is during the months of November to February. During this time, the weather is pleasantly cool and welcoming, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C. The cool breezes and comfortable climate make it perfect for tourists to explore the rich marine life and the exquisite coral reefs that the park is famous for. As it is the peak tourist season, ensure that you plan your trip well in advance to secure accommodations and any required permits for visiting the park.

Visiting the park outside these months, specifically from June to September, could be challenging due to the monsoon season, which brings heavy rainfall and rough sea conditions, potentially limiting access to marine areas and snorkeling opportunities. The park remains open throughout the year, but boat services to the islands within the park might be irregular or unsafe during the monsoon period. For the safest and most comfortable experience, sticking to the recommended period is best to indulge in snorkeling, scuba diving, and glass-bottom boat rides, making the most out of your visit to this unique natural sanctuary.
