Mary's Church Lansdowne Tourism

St. Mary's Church is nestled in the quaint hill station of Lansdowne, Uttarakhand, India. Built by Col. A.H.B Hume of the Royal Engineers in 1895, the church emanates an aura of historical significance and architectural beauty. After serving the spiritual needs of the British pre-independence, the church fell into disuse and was eventually restored by the Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre. The beautiful stained glass windows and serene ambiance offer a deep sense of peace. The church is now a museum that houses pictorial displays and audio-visual presentations narrating the history of the regiment and the town. Surrounded by thick oak and blue pine forests, St. Mary’s Church stands as a silent testament to the colonial era and provides visitors with a glimpse into Lansdowne’s past.
