Meetha Reetha Sahib Tourism

Meetha Reetha Sahib is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site located in the Champawat district of Uttarakhand, Northern India. Nestled along the banks of the Lohawati River, it's believed to be the very spot where the Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji, came and had a spiritual discourse with Gorakhpanthi Jogis. The gurdwara boasts a unique history and is named after the sweet-tasting Reetha (soapnuts) found in the area which are said to have lost their bitterness upon the Guru's touch. Devotees cherish these soapnuts as prasad and regard them with great reverence. The complex features lush green surroundings with an ambiance of peace and spirituality. The melodic kirtan and the presence of humble devotees create an aura of divine serenity. The architectural style is simple yet elegant, reflecting Sikh doctrines of humility and equality. This historic site is not only a spiritual nexus but also a symbol of the harmonious coexistence of different faiths.
