Best Time To Visit Mogalarajapuram Caves (Vijayawada) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Mogalarajapuram Caves, Vijayawada

Vijayawada, located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India, experiences tropical weather which is characterized by hot summers, a monsoon season with heavy rainfall, and a pleasantly mild winter. The best time to visit the Mogalarajapuram Caves is during the winter months, which span from October to March. During this period, the temperatures are comparatively cooler, averaging around 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F). This cooler climate makes it comfortable for exploring and appreciating the ancient rock-cut architecture of the caves without the extreme heat that can be experienced in other months.

Visiting the caves during the summertime, which lasts from March to early June, can be quite challenging due to the harsh temperatures that can soar above 40°C (104°F). Following the summer is the monsoon season, from June to September, when the region receives heavy rainfall, which could potentially disrupt travel plans and make the cave visit less enjoyable. Therefore, planning your visit during the winter also ensures lesser chances of encountering rain and dealing with harsh sun, providing an ideal circumstance for tourists to explore the caves and the surrounding areas at length.
