Best Time to Visit Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach

Muzhappilangad Drive-in Beach, located in Kannur, Kerala, India, is renowned for being Asia's longest drive-in beach where visitors can drive along a 4-kilometer stretch of sand. The best time to visit this extraordinary destination is from October to March. During these months, the weather is most favorable as the monsoon season has ended and the heat is comparatively mild. With the onset of winter, the humidity levels drop and the clear blue skies present a perfect backdrop for breathtaking sunsets. This is also the ideal time to enjoy beach activities like sunbathing, swimming, and kite flying, as well as the annual beach festival which is held in April, often attracting car enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

The Kerala region experiences a tropical climate and the summer months from March to May can become quite hot and less comfortable for outdoor activities. However, the period just after the monsoon between September and October can also be a delightful time to visit as the landscape is lush and vibrant, though some sporadic rainfall can still occur. Visitors during this time can enjoy a less crowded beach experience. It is important to note that during the monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September, the beach may not be accessible for driving due to the rough seas and high tides. Therefore, planning your visit outside the monsoon months will ensure an optimal experience of this unique beach destination.
