Namgyal Monastery Tourism

Namgyal Monastery in Dharamshala is a significant spiritual and cultural center for Tibetan Buddhism. Situated in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India, it stands at the upper reaches of the Kangra Valley, surrounded by dense pine forests and towering Dhauladhar ranges. The monastery, founded in the 16th century in Tibet, was re-established in India after the 1959 Tibetan uprising. It is the personal monastery of the 14th Dalai Lama and serves as a residence for Tibetan monks, a center for education, and a hub for the preservation of Tibetan culture and traditions.
