Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, situated on an island named Mandhata or Shivapuri in the Narmada river, is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. This island is shaped like the sacred Hindu symbol 'Om,' and it's this aspect that gives the island and temple their name. The temple is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. The significant feature of the Jyotirlinga present here is that it is split into two parts, one part is in the Omkareshwar temple, and the other is in the Amareshwar temple. The island comprises two lofty hills and is divided by a valley in such a way that it appears in the shape of the sacred Hindu symbol. The temple's architecture is a beautiful blend of North and South Indian styles. The serene and spiritual atmosphere of the temple, combined with the natural scenic beauty of its surroundings, provides a soothing and tranquil experience for devotees and tourists alike.
