Mamleshwar Temple, also known as Amareshwar or Amruteshwar Temple, is a revered Hindu temple situated on the banks of the holy river Narmada on the island of Mandhata or Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple has a rich mythological significance being one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. It's marked by its distinct architectural style reflecting the brilliance of Maratha design that dates back centuries. The central sanctum enshrines the Jyotirlinga, radiating a serene spiritual aura that attracts devotees from all around. The temple compound is modest, yet the intricate carvings and the peaceful surroundings provide an immersive spiritual experience. Across from the temple flows the Narmada, enhancing the sanctity of the location. Mamleshwar is not just a center for devotion but also a spot of historical and architectural interest, with inscriptions and structures narrating tales from times immemorial. Devotees often perform circumambulation of the hill on which the temple stands, a ritual considered highly meritorious.
