Best Time to Visit Semmozhi Poonga, Chennai

Semmozhi Poonga, located in the bustling city of Chennai, is an exquisite botanical garden that is a tranquil oasis amidst the urban sprawl. The best time to visit Semmozhi Poonga is between the months of November and February. During this period, the weather in Chennai is relatively pleasant as it is the post-monsoon and winter season. Temperatures range from a comfortable 20°C to 30°C, making it the ideal climate for exploring the lush greenery and exotic plant collections. The humidity is also lower compared to the rest of the year, ensuring a more comfortable visit.

It is important to note that Semmozhi Poonga might have different timings for various seasons, but generally, the garden is open throughout the year. Avoid planning a visit during the hot summer months from March to early June, when temperatures soar above 35°C, which might not be conducive for leisurely strolls. Similarly, the monsoon season from July to September might bring heavy rains, which can disrupt outdoor activities within the park. Thus, timing your visit during the recommended cooler months will not only enhance your experience but also allow you to fully appreciate the diverse botanical species and serene landscapes that Semmozhi Poonga has to offer.
