Shaheed Smarak is a significant monument located in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh, India. Dedicated to the memory of soldiers who lost their lives during several major wars, including the First War of Indian Independence in 1857, it stands as a symbol of sacrifice and patriotism. The structure is situated in the heart of Lucknow, near the banks of River Gomti, commanding a serene view of the surrounding green expanses and the flowing river. It was inaugurated by the former President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on 15 August 1957, on the occasion of the centenary of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. This iconic monument is an imposing white marble structure, surrounded by well-maintained gardens that are a popular spot for morning walks among locals. The architecture of the Smarak is simple yet elegant, inspiring awe and respect for the martyrs immortalized by the site. On the bank of Gomti river
It is a minar which is erected in remembrance to martyrs died during Indian independence. The view of Gomti river is awesome from here. The park surrounding this attraction is also nice.
