About Sukhna Lake

Sukhna Lake is a serene reservoir located at the foothills of the Shivalik Hills in Chandigarh, Punjab, India. This 3 km² rain-fed lake was created in 1958 by damming the Sukhna Choe stream flowing from the Shivalik Hills. Conceived by the Swiss-French architect, Le Corbusier, and the Chief Engineer P L Verma, Sukhna Lake forms an integral part of the city's urban design and is a protected national wetland. The promenade along the lake is a popular spot for morning walks, jogging, and leisurely strolls. The tranquility of the lake is complemented by the lush greenery that surrounds it, making it a photographer's delight. Visitors can enjoy activities such as rowing, boating, and yachting. The lakefront garden is frequently visited by locals and tourists alike for picnics and relaxation. Owing to its picturesque setting and the rich biodiversity that includes a variety of birds, Sukhna Lake is a spectacular destination for nature lovers and bird watchers. A Beautiful Lake in Chandigarh
A Beautiful Lake so many people’s come here for Jogging Running, Jogging and exercising as well in the Evening and Morning. Few People comes here as a tourist too. Inside hawkers are there like fast food , Juice counters and few other snacks option even Amul parlours as well.

Nice place......... The view of lake at night time is mesmerizing...........You will find nice food joints surrounded with this lake where u can order food as per your taste............. One of the best place in Chandigarh to hangout........

Visit this lake to chill and relax
I visited this lake in evening during my visit to Chandigarh. There is a food court and cruise rides available at the lake. I did the basic cruise ride and find it to be okayish as it was quite hot and it was a bit slow. Maybe one can go for more premium cruise ride. I more liked just sitting at the lake side and enjoying the sunset. One can also walk at the trail alongside the lake.
