Best Time To Visit Tangmarg (Gulmarg) In 2026 - 2027

Gulmarg, located in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir in India, is a premier hill station famous for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor sports activities. One of the best times to visit Tangmarg, which serves as a gateway to Gulmarg, is between December and March. During these months, the region is transformed into a winter wonderland, offering some of the best skiing and snowboarding experiences in the Himalayas. The annual snowfall provides perfect conditions for winter sports enthusiasts. Moreover, if you are interested in experiencing the charm of snowy landscapes or indulging in snow-related activities like tobogganing or snow-sculpting, this is the ideal period to visit.

For those who prefer milder weather and blooming nature, the months of May to September offer a completely different experience. This period is marked by lush green meadows, colorful flowers, and a pleasant climate which is perfect for trekking, gondola rides, and simply enjoying the scenic vistas. Although it’s the peak tourist season, the weather stays relatively cool, making it an excellent escape from the heat in other parts of India. It's also a great time for golfing at one of the highest golf courses in the world. If you’re visiting during this time, remember to pack light woolens as the evenings can get slightly chilly.
