Pench National Park, with its lush forests and rich wildlife, is a prime destination for nature enthusiasts and the Turia Gate is one of the main entry points to this exquisite area. The best time to visit through Turia Gate is during the cooler months from October to April. During this period, the climate is pleasant with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 30°C, making wildlife spotting a much more comfortable experience. Most importantly, the park's deciduous forests become less dense, improving visibility and increasing chances of encountering the park's diverse fauna, including the majestic Bengal Tiger. The winter months, particularly from December to February, offer a serene and lush landscape following the monsoon, attracting numerous migratory birds, making it an ideal time for bird watchers.
However, for those specifically interested in tiger sightings, the period from March to June when the summer heat parches the jungle making water scarce, drives animals to common watering holes, which can result in more frequent tiger encounters. Do note that although temperatures in this pre-monsoon season can soar as high as 40°C, morning and evening safaris are still conducted, and these are the best times to venture into the forest. The park is generally closed during the monsoon season from July to September to allow for natural rejuvenation, and thus visiting during these months is not possible. Regardless of your travel dates, an early booking is highly recommended as the number of safari permits particularly for Turia Gate is limited and can be sold out quickly due to high demand.
