Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple is an ancient and revered temple located in Mount Abu, a hill station in the Sirohi district of Rajasthan, India. Situated outside the Achalgarh fort, it was constructed in the 9th century AD. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is renowned for a unique feature: the toe prints of Lord Shiva. The architectural style captures the essence of the age with intricate carvings, stone sculptures, and beautiful artwork. The temple complex includes a Nandi made from panchadhatu (five metals) and three stone buffaloes near a pond. The temple premises also comprise a natural shivalinga, which is a central aspect of the Shiva worship rituals conducted there. Despite the temple being relatively small, it carries significant religious importance and is enveloped in a serene atmosphere, making it a cherished site for pilgrims and tourists alike. The nearby Mandakini Lake and the sculpted rock formations add to the spiritual and natural beauty of the locale.
