The Dilwara Jain Temples are situated about two and a half kilometers from Mount Abu, Rajasthan's only hill station. These temples are renowned for their stunning use of marble and intricate marble carvings. Built between the 11th and 13th centuries by the Chalukya dynasty, they are dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras. The complex comprises five temples: Vimal Vasahi, Luna Vasahi, Pithalhar, Parshvanatha, and Mahavir Swami Temple, each with its own unique identity and architectural wonder. The outstanding craftsmanship of the marble stone carvings exceeds expectations and is often compared to that of the Taj Mahal. The ornate doorways, beautiful ceilings, and the minutely carved pillars and panels reflect the peak of architectural and artistic prowess of the time. This tranquility and sacred spot is enveloped by lush green hills, adding to the serenity.
