Gaumukh Temple, named after the natural spring in the shape of a cow’s head, is an ancient Hindu temple located in the serene hill station of Mount Abu in Rajasthan, India. It is situated at a distance of approximately 6 km from the city center. The temple is reached by ascending 700 steps cut into a rocky incline, leading to the tranquil setting that overlooks a deep valley and provides panoramic views. It is dedicated to Saint Vashistha, who, according to mythology, performed a great fire sacrifice at this site. The temple complex is known for its beautiful sculptural details and is surrounded by natural beauty. It features a marble sculpture of a cow from which a spring flows, believed to be a manifestation of the River Ganga. Visitors can observe devotees performing rituals and seeking blessings. The environment here is peaceful, offering a spiritual retreat away from the bustling city life.
