Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Aravalli Range in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, and spans 290 square kilometers, from 300 meters to 1,722 meters at Guru Shikhar, the highest peak of Rajasthan. Established in 1960, the sanctuary provides a haven for various species of flora and fauna. It boasts a rich biodiversity and has subtropical evergreen forests within its precinct with species like orchids, ferns, and roses. Fauna includes leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, sambar, chinkara and numerous species of birds. The sanctuary encompasses a number of mountains from 300m to 1722m at Guru Shikar, the apex of the Aravali Ranges, which facilitates a scenic and mesmerizing backdrop to the wildlife residing there. This sanctuary, apart from being a wildlife haven, is also an area filled with historical significance and is home to several Hindu temples and Jain temples of spiritual value, dating back to the 11th to 13th centuries.
