Best Time to Visit Ajajmer Sharif Dargah, Ajmer

Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the sacred mausoleum of the revered Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, is nestled in the heart of Ajmer, Rajasthan, and remains one of the most significant pilgrimage sites in India. The best time to visit Ajmer Sharif Dargah is during the cooler months of October to March when the weather is pleasant, making the experience more comfortable for visitors. During this period, the climate is mild with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 18°C, which is ideal for exploring and soaking in the spiritual ambiance of the dargah without the discomfort of the scorching heat that Rajasthan is known for in the summer months.

Visitors might also consider timing their visit to coincide with the annual Urs festival, which is celebrated on the death anniversary of Saint Moinuddin Chishti. The Urs, marked by a six-day festival, usually falls in the Islamic month of Rajab, which varies according to the lunar calendar, typically occurring somewhere between late March and early July. During Urs, the dargah is bustling with pilgrims from across the world who come to pay their respects, and the whole area vibrates with spiritual fervor and festivity. However, it should be noted that the festival period can also be extremely crowded, so travelers looking for a quieter visit might prefer to avoid this time.
