Alfred Park (Chandra Shekhar Azad Park) Tourism

Alfred Park, also known as Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, is situated in the heart of Allahabad (Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh, India. Spanning over 133 acres, it is the biggest park in the city and holds great historical significance. Established in 1870 to mark Prince Alfred's visit to the city, it was later renamed in honor of the freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad. Azad sacrificed his life in this park during the Indian freedom struggle against British colonial rule. The park has lush greenery, walking paths, and an extensive variety of flora. It houses attractions such as the Victoria Memorial, Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad Museum, and a large statue of George V.
