Best Time to Visit Alfred Park (Chandra Shekhar Azad Park), Allahabad (Prayagraj)

The ideal time to visit Alfred Park, also known as Chandra Shekhar Azad Park, in Allahabad (Prayagraj), Uttar Pradesh is during the cooler months, starting from October to March. During this period, the weather is pleasant with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C, which is comfortable for exploring the park and enjoying outdoor activities. The park flourishes with greenery after the monsoon season, making the surroundings refreshingly scenic. Visitors can comfortably stroll through the gardens and admire the historical monuments, including the statue of freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, without the discomfort of the harsh Indian summer heat or the unpredictability of the monsoon rains.

In addition to the weather, these months also align with various cultural and religious festivals celebrated in Allahabad, such as Diwali, Maha Shivaratri, and the annual Magh Mela, which attracts pilgrims from all over the country. Visiting during these festivals provides an opportunity not only to enjoy the verdant beauty of Alfred Park but also to immerse yourself in the vibrant cultural tapestry of the city. To avoid the crowd, however, it may be best to steer clear of the Kumbh Mela period when millions of pilgrims converge on the city, unless the purpose of your visit is to experience this grand event. Planning your visit on weekdays can also help you avoid the local weekend crowds frequently visiting the park.
