The Historical Tapestry of Aminabad

The roots of Aminabad Market can be traced back to the days of the Nawabs of Awadh, specifically to the reign of Nawab Saadat Ali Khan in the late 18th century. Initially a residential area for the entitled elites and their retinues, it gradually transformed into a bustling market, attracting merchants and artisans to serve the needs of the affluential Nawabi society.

This market, with its myriad shops and bazaars, has played a pivotal role in nurturing the city's cultural ethos, offering an enchanting mix of old and new. From traditional chikankari and zardozi embroidery, which have been part of Lucknow's heritage for centuries, to modern-day eateries and fashion stores, Aminabad has something for everyone.
