Bhrigu Lake is a high-altitude alpine lake nestled in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Situated at an elevation of around 4,300 meters above sea level, it is named after Maharishi Bhrigu, a significant figure in Hindu mythology. Legends suggest that the sage used to meditate near the lake, hence rendering it sacred. This pristine water body lies east of Rohtang Pass and is approximately 6 kilometers from Gulaba village, which serves as the starting point for the trek to this ethereal destination. The trek to Bhrigu Lake presents a mesmerizing amalgamation of natural beauty ranging from lush meadows, dense forests, and panoramic views of snow-clad peaks to the stark beauty of the high-altitude terrain. Trekking enthusiasts and nature lovers are often drawn to this place for its tranquility and picturesque landscape. The lake remains frozen for most parts of the year; however, in the short summer months, it is visited by scores of trekkers who come to witness the serene blue waters and the carpet of wildflowers that border it.
