Manikaran is a sacred pilgrimage spot located in the Parvati Valley along the banks of river Parvati in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Known for its hot sulfur springs and beautiful landscape, it is a destination revered by both Hindus and Sikhs. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood, making it a significant spiritual location. Sikh history narrates that Guru Nanak Dev Ji performed several miracles here, and the place houses a Gurudwara in his honor. The hot springs are said to possess healing properties and are a major draw for visitors who take a dip in these waters. Surrounding Manikaran are the dense pine forests, and the imposing mountains of the valley, which are a special allure for trekkers and all nature enthusiasts. Apart from the religious aspects, Manikaran also provides a variety of local experiences and is famous for its langar (community kitchen), where meals are served for free to all visitors regardless of faith or religion.
