Central Museum, also known as the Indore Museum, is one of the most significant cultural establishments in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Situated near the General Post Office (GPO) in Indore, it houses a vast collection of artifacts which provide a glimpse into the rich heritage of the region. The museum displays a range of historical and archaeological items including coins, arms, and armory. One of the major highlights is the collection of Parmar sculptures sourced from the ruins of various temples in Madhya Pradesh. These sculptures are renowned for their intricate designs and craftsmanship depicting hindu gods, goddesses, and mythological stories. The museum has two galleries, of which, one is dedicated to artifacts from the prehistoric period, showcasing items that date back to 5,000 BC. The other gallery focuses on the Hindu mythological carvings.
