Rajwada Palace Tourism

Rajwada Palace, situated in the heart of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, embodies the grandeur of the Holkar dynasty. Constructed over two centuries ago, Rajwada stands as a seven-story structure reflecting a blend of Maratha, Mughal, and French architectural styles. The palace's lower three floors are made of stone, reminiscent of Mughal influence, while the top floors feature wooden construction, exhibiting Maratha workmanship. Rajwada has witnessed numerous historical events and once served as the ruling seat of the Holkar monarchs. Today, it functions as a museum and a popular tourist attraction. The palace complex includes a well-maintained garden with fountains and an artificial waterfall, which adds to the serene ambiance. Its interior houses a historical exhibit with artefacts from the era of the Holkars. The palace has been partially restored after suffering damage from fires over the years.
