Chhatribagh Tourism

Chhatribagh is a residential area in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, known for its historical significance and cultural heritage. It gets its name from the collection of cenotaphs, or 'chhatris,' which are dome-shaped pavilions that were traditionally used to commemorate significant figures in Rajputana and elsewhere in India. These structures are fine examples of Maratha architecture, which makes the place historically rich and architecturally significant. Chhatribagh boasts well-preserved chhatris dedicated to the Holkar dynasty, which once ruled Indore. The most prominent of these is Krishnapura Chhatri, located near Rajwada, another famous landmark. Apart from its historical monuments, the area is residential with a vibrant local market. It provides a glimpse into the daily life of the locals, along with opportunities to enjoy Indore's street food.
