Best Time to Visit ChattBir Zoo (Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park)

ChattBir Zoo, located in the vicinity of Chandigarh, Punjab, India, is a delightful attraction for wildlife enthusiasts and families alike. The zoo features a wide array of animals and birds, offering an immersive experience into the natural world. The best time to visit ChattBir Zoo is during the cooler months from October to March, when the climate is pleasantly mild, and the temperatures range between 7°C and 20°C. This period is ideal as the animals are typically more active in the cooler weather, providing visitors with a better chance to observe them in their habitats. Moreover, comfortable temperatures ensure a more enjoyable and comfortable experience for walking around the large expanses of the zoo.

Visitors should note that summers in this region, particularly from April to June, can be extremely hot with temperatures soaring above 35°C, which can lead to a less comfortable zoo experience. The hot weather also means that many animals may retreat to shaded areas, making them less visible. During the monsoon season, from July to September, the zoo can experience heavy rainfall, which might disrupt animal viewing and make some pathways less accessible. Thus, planning your visit during the cooler months will not only enhance your comfort but also maximize your opportunities to engage with the wildlife at ChattBir Zoo.
