Daksha Mahadev Temple is a revered Hindu temple situated in the holy city of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, India. According to Hindu mythology, this temple is named after King Daksha Prajapati, the father of Sati, who was the first wife of Lord Shiva. The temple holds significant historical and religious importance as it is said to be the place where Daksha conducted a grand yagna (fire sacrifice) but did not invite Lord Shiva. Feeling humiliated, Sati sacrificed herself at the yagna. Enraged by this, Shiva's followers, including the fearsome Virabhadra, destroyed the yagna and beheaded Daksha. Later, Shiva forgave Daksha and brought him back to life with a goat's head. The site is a hub for spiritual activities, especially during the festival of Mahashivratri. It features intricate carvings, a peaceful ambiance, and is situated by the Ganges River, adding to its sacredness. The temple complex is a blend of ancient architecture and religious practices, attracting thousands of pilgrims and tourists seeking spiritual solace.

The temple is a beautiful place with the environment offering peace and tranquility. It is primarily famous due to the story that this was the same place where goddess Sati burnt herself by jumping in..
