Best Time To Visit Darwa Pass Trek (Uttarkashi) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Darwa Pass Trek

The optimal period for undertaking the Darwa Pass Trek, situated in the enchanting district of Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand, India, is during the months of May to June, and then again from September to October. These months constitute the pre-monsoon summer season and the post-monsoon autumn season respectively, offering trekkers the chance to experience the trails in relatively stable and pleasant weather conditions. During these windows, the skies are generally clear, providing breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and landscapes. The temperature during these times ranges from a comfortable 5°C to 15°C during the day, which can plummet to between -5°C to 5°C at night, especially at higher altitudes. It is crucial for trekkers to be well-prepared with adequate clothing and gear for these temperatures.

Visiting outside these recommended periods can present various challenges; the monsoon season, which typically runs from July to August, is marked by heavy rainfall, making the trek paths slippery and potentially dangerous, with higher risks of landslides and poor visibility. Winters, from November to April, are extremely harsh with heavy snowfall, making the trek route inaccessible and unsafe. Therefore, planning your trek during the advised time frames not only ensures a more enjoyable experience but also maximizes safety. Regardless of when you decide to go, it is always wise to check the latest weather forecasts and local advisories before beginning your adventure to the majestic Darwa Pass.
