Devprayag is a town and a nagar panchayat in Tehri Garhwal district in the state of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the Panch Prayag (five confluences) of Alaknanda River where it meets with Bhagirathi River and forms the Ganges River. Devprayag is a place of significant religious importance to Hindu devotees as well as a destination of natural beauty. Encircled by the three peaks named Giddhanchal Parvat, Dashrathanchal Parvat, and Narsinghancal Parvat, Devprayag is also home to the Raghunathji Temple, devoted to Lord Rama, which is an important place of worship. Besides its religious significance, Devprayag attracts tourists for its ancient shrines, ayurvedic treatment centers, and the vibrant culture it embodies. The town is named after a sage, Dev Sharma, who led a life of penance here and it is believed that he was blessed with a glimpse of the gods. The scenic vistas, the confluence of rivers, and the serene atmosphere make Devprayag a tranquil retreat.
