Best Time to Visit Ghora Katora Lake, Rajgir, Bihar

The ideal time to visit Ghora Katora Lake is during the cooler months of October to March. During this period, the weather in Rajgir is pleasant with minimal rainfall, which makes it perfect for outdoor activities like boating in the lake, hiking or enjoying a peaceful picnic by the water. The temperatures range from a comfortable 12°C to 30°C. It’s the peak season for tourism in Rajgir, as visitors can enjoy the scenic beauty without the discomfort of the summer heat or monsoon rains. The winter months also coincide with several local festivals, which can provide an added cultural experience to your visit.

In contrast, the summer months of April to June can be quite hot with temperatures soaring above 40°C, making outdoor activities by the lake less enjoyable. The monsoon season, from July to September, while bringing lush greenery to the surroundings, may also lead to higher humidity and occasional heavy rains that could disrupt travel plans. Hence, it is generally recommended to plan your visit outside the monsoon period. When planning your trip, be sure to check the local festival calendar to experience Rajgir's vibrant festivities around Ghora Katora Lake.
