Gopi Talav is a small, ancient reservoir situated on the outskirts of the sacred city of Dwarka in Gujarat, India. Considered holy by Hindus, the tank is associated with the legends of Lord Krishna and the gopis (milkmaids) of Vrindavan. According to folklore, the gopis, unable to bear the separation from Lord Krishna after he moved to Dwarka, came to this spot to see him. Overwhelmed with emotion, they dissolved into the earth and merged with Krishna. As a result, the soil around Gopi Talav, known as 'Gopi Chandan', is considered highly sanctified and is used as a religious mark (tilak) by devotees. Surrounded by sandy terrain and small shrines, the lake has a paved walkway encircling it, allowing visitors to take a serene stroll while soaking in the spiritual ambiance of the place. Despite its modest size, Gopi Talav remains deeply embedded in the devout heart of Hinduism. Recent efforts to develop the site have seen improved facilities for visitors and beautification projects that make it an attractive destination for both pilgrims and tourists alike.

Strongly Avoid this Place
The temple here is heavily controlled by goon pandits. They automatically start to recite katha/puja for you & when you tell them that you don't need it they become angry, and harass, insult and abuse..

Very badly maintained
Very badly maintained talab despite its historic importance. Water body is full of algae and the steps are very slippery. Better to give a miss.
