Best Time to Visit Indira Gandhi Planetarium in Lucknow

Indira Gandhi Planetarium, also known as Taramandal, is situated in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, and is one of the city's premier educational and recreational attractions. The best time to plan a visit to the planetarium is between October and March. During these months, Lucknow experiences winter season which is characterized by pleasant weather with the temperature ranging from 8 to 20 degrees Celsius. This comfortable climate is ideal for tourists to explore and engage in outdoor activities without the discomfort of the intense summer heat or the monsoon rains. Moreover, the clear winter skies can complement your planetarium experience, as stargazing activities (if available) can be more rewarding during this period.

Visitors should note that the planetarium remains closed on Mondays and on public holidays. The show timings at the planetarium vary, typically starting from 1:00 PM with multiple sessions available throughout the day. It is recommended to check the latest timings and plan your visit accordingly. Additionally, winter hosts several local festivals and fairs which can offer a culturally rich experience. The onset of winter also coincides with the festive season in India, which includes celebrations like Diwali, bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the city. With the weather being tourist-friendly and cultural festivities in full swing, winter months undoubtedly provide an enriching experience for visitors to the Indira Gandhi Planetarium and the city of Lucknow.
