Jaganmohan Palace Art Gallery and Auditorium is a historical building located in the royal city of Mysore, Karnataka, India. Built in 1861 by Krishnaraja Wodeyar III as an alternate retreat for the royal family, the palace is an exemplary artefact of traditional Hindu architecture with beautiful domes, arches, and hallways. In 1915, the palace was converted into an art gallery, which was later named the Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery. It houses one of the largest collections of artefacts in South India. The gallery's pride includes paintings by Raja Ravi Varma, Svetoslav Roerich, and traditional Mysore Gold Leaf style art among the collection of ceramics, brassware, musical instruments, antique furniture, and other items that bespeak the city's rich cultural and artistic history. The auditorium is used for cultural events such as music concerts and dance performances, keeping the city's cultural legacy vibrant. Visitors not only get a glimpse into the art and culture of Mysore but also witness the splendor of a bygone era through this architectural marvel.
