Mysore Palace, also known as Ambavilas Palace, is a historical palace and a royal residence located in Mysore, Karnataka, India. It is one of the most splendid and iconic palaces in India, famed for its Indo-Saracenic style of architecture with a blend of Hindu, Muslim, Rajput, and Gothic styles. The current structure was commissioned in 1897 and completed in 1912 after the old palace was destroyed by fire. It was the residence of the Wadiyar Maharajas of the Mysore princely state. The palace stands facing the Chamundi Hills eastward and is a central attraction during the festive season of Dasara when it is spectacularly illuminated. It encompasses courtyards, gardens, and buildings with finely detailed workmanship involving decorative stained glass, mirrors, solid silver doors, beautifully carved mahogany ceilings, and a remarkable array of artifacts and paintings from around the world. The palace is a three-storied stone structure with marble domes and a 145-foot-tall five-storied tower. The palace's intricate craftsmanship and historical significance draw tourists and history enthusiasts from across the globe.
