Best Time To Visit Kappad Beach (Kozhikode) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Kappad Beach, Kozhikode, Kerala, India

Kappad Beach, situated in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, holds historical significance and is known for its serene and tranquil environment. It is famously known as the land where the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama landed in 1498, marking a significant event in history. The best time to visit Kappad Beach is from October to March. During these months, the climate is most favorable, as the weather is comfortable with minimal rainfall, making it ideal for beach activities and sightseeing. Kerala has a tropical climate, and this period post-monsoon provides a delightful escape with lush green surroundings and pleasant temperatures averaging between 18°C to 30°C.

The monsoon season, which lasts from June to September, is usually less recommended for beach visits due to heavy rainfall and strong winds, which may hinder beach activities and outdoor explorations. However, for those who relish the monsoon and find bliss in the rain-drenched environment, Kappad Beach offers a unique charm with its natural beauty in full bloom. The humidity and temperatures are higher from April to May, and this pre-monsoon season sees a lesser influx of tourists. For those aiming to avoid the crowd and do not mind the heat, this can be a good time to benefit from off-season discounts. Nevertheless, the cooler months remain the best window for an overall enjoyable experience.
