Khambhalida Caves are located in the outskirts of Rajkot district in the state of Gujarat, India. These ancient Buddhist caves, also known as Rajkot Caves, date back to the 4th or 5th century AD, and hold significant historical and cultural importance. Carved into limestone rocks, Khambhalida Caves consist of three main caves. The central cave is the 'Chaitya' with a worn-out stupa, while the other two are viharas or monk residence caves. One of the most striking features is the doorway of the central chaitya, which is adorned with figures of Bodhisattvas. The peaceful surroundings and the historic link to the past make it an attractive and thought-provoking site for history enthusiasts and tourists. These caves are a fine example of Indian rock-cut architecture from ancient times, reflecting the influence of Buddhist culture in the region.

Old and historical place to visit. We have reached in local transport. Nice place. Cave is too old but still in good condition.

Ancient Buddhist caves in Gujarat

These are Buddhist caves at village Khambhalida. It's off road 8 kM on Rajkot Gondal highway. It's on way to khodaldham. Poorly maintained and no facility no deleopement.
