Watson Museum, situated in the Jubilee Garden of Rajkot, Gujarat, India, stands as a testimony to the rich history and eclectic cultural tapestry of Saurashtra region. Named after the British political agent in Kathiawar, Colonel John Watson, the museum was established in 1888. It showcases a varied collection ranging from ancient artefacts to colonial memorabilia. Exhibits include 13th-century carvings, temple statues, and natural history exhibits. It's also home to a significant collection of traditional Rajasthani costumes, precious stones, and even a library. The museum vividly portrays the life and contributions of the Jadeja Rajputs, who once ruled this region. Its architecture blends British colonial influences with local design sensibilities, bridging the past with the present.

Nothing new
Typical museum, with a small collection of clothes, coins, statues, stuffed animals, and paintings. Can visit if you really have extra time on hand, but nothing missed if you skip it.

The religious statues, sculpture of Queen Victoria and the Darbar Hall of the princely states of Gujarat are interesting
The Watson Museum exhibiting collection of items from around Gujarat. The items are good quality, and arranged thematically. The items on display is a very eclectic mix of items that would not be out ..
