Kunzum Pass (Lahaul Valley) Tourism

Kunzum Pass is a high mountain pass located on the eastern Kunzum Range of the Himalayas, at an altitude of 4,551 meters. It serves as a gateway to the Spiti Valley from Lahaul and Kullu. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glaciers, the Kunzum Pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the Bara-Sigri Glacier, the second-longest glacier in the world. The pass is known for its picturesque and rugged terrain, and is often dotted with colorful prayer flags that flutter in the wind, adding to the area's spiritual ambiance. The Kunzum Devi Temple, atop the pass, is visited by travellers who often seek blessings before heading down the tricky roads. The route through Kunzum Pass is a favourite amongst adventure enthusiasts and is part of the adventure circuit covering Kullu, Manali, Rohtang Pass, and Leh. It is, however, only open to the public from June to early October due to heavy snowfall during the other months.
