Tabo Monastery (Lahaul Valley) Tourism

Tabo Monastery is a significant Buddhist enclave nestled in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Founded in 996 AD, it is one of the oldest operational Buddhist monasteries in India and the Himalayas. The monastery holds a special place in Tibetan Buddhism as it has been declared a national historic treasure by the Indian government. Tabo Monastery is renowned for its intricate murals, stucco images, and extensive collection of scriptures, including the Tibetan translations of the Buddhist canon.
