Best Time To Visit Lucknow Zoo (Lucknow) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Lucknow Zoo

The ideal time to visit Lucknow Zoo, officially known as Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden, is during the cooler months of the year, typically from October to March. During this period, the weather in Lucknow is pleasantly cool, with temperatures ranging from 18°C to 24°C, making outdoor activities comfortable for visitors. The cooler temperatures not only make for an enjoyable visit but also tend to be more conducive to wildlife activity, affording you an opportunity to see the animals at their most active. Moreover, these months coincide with the festive season in India, which could add an additional cultural experience to your visit.

Avoid visiting during the hot summer months, from April to June, as the high temperatures, often soaring above 40°C, can be uncomfortable for both visitors and animals. Similarly, the monsoon season, which generally runs from July to September, may not be the ideal time to visit due to heavy rainfalls that could disrupt your zoo experience. If you plan to visit during the winter peak season, it is advisable to reach early in the morning to avoid the crowds and to witness the animals when they are most likely to be out in their enclosures. During this peak season, the zoo becomes a festive place, often hosting special events and educational programs that can enrich your experience.
