Best Time To Visit Novosibirsk (Russia) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Novosibirsk, Russia

The ideal period to visit Novosibirsk is during the short summer season, which typically spans from late June to early September. During these months, the weather is most conducive for tourists, characterized by mild to warm temperatures, averaging around 20°C (68°F) to 25°C (77°F) in July, which is often the warmest month. This season provides the perfect opportunity to explore the local attractions, such as the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, and to enjoy outdoor activities without the hindrance of cold weather. Also, the long summer days offer extended daylight for sightseeing, with the "White Nights" phenomenon offering twilight conditions even at midnight around the time of the summer solstice in June.

Nevertheless, for those interested in winter activities or who wish to experience the Siberian winter, November to March is the time to visit. Be prepared for extreme cold temperatures that can plummet to -20°C (-4°F) or lower. Visitors during this period can enjoy the winter landscape, engage in activities like ice skating or skiing, and perhaps participate in the Russian winter festival celebrations. It is, however, essential to pack appropriately with heavy winter clothing and gear to ensure comfort and safety during your visit in these harsh winter conditions. Notably, the Trans-Siberian Railway operates year-round, offering a unique experience across the Siberian landscapes, irrespective of the season.
