Best Time To Visit Payyambalam Beach (Kannur) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit Payyambalam Beach, Kannur

The most ideal time to visit Payyambalam Beach in Kannur, Kerala, is between the months of October and March. During this period, the weather conditions are most favorable for beach activities and sightseeing. The monsoon season, which typically runs from June to September, brings heavy rains and can lead to strong currents and high waves, making it less suitable for a beach visit. However, post-monsoon, the beach is rejuvenated, the greenery around is vibrant, and the climate is comfortably cool and pleasant, without the high humidity that characterizes the summer months. The daytime temperatures range from a comfortable 20°C to 30°C, providing an ideal escape from the cold winters of the north.

The winter season, in particular, not only offers a reprieve from rain but also presents a perfect backdrop of clear blue skies for photographers and nature enthusiasts. It is also a time for local festivals, and visitors may get a chance to witness Theyyam performances – a traditional form of worship with roots in Kerala's folk culture. The beach is less crowded during weekdays, giving tourists a more peaceful experience. Regardless of when you visit, sunsets at Payyambalam Beach are spectacular, and the golden hours provide a serene ambiance, which is perfect for evening strolls along the shore.
