Rewa Kund in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, is a historic reservoir that is famed for its part in the romantic tale of Baz Bahadur and Roopmati. Rewa Kund itself is an example of the skillful water management systems of the past, designed to supply water to Roopmati's Pavilion, which stands nearby. According to legend, the pavilion was where the Sultan Baz Bahadur and his beloved, a pastoral shepherdess named Roopmati, met and gazed upon the Narmada River.
