Rewa Kund in Mandu, Madhya Pradesh, is a historic reservoir that is famed for its part in the romantic tale of Baz Bahadur and Roopmati. Mandu is a fortress town situated atop a plateau in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, distinguished by a rich architectural heritage and scenic beauty. Rewa Kund itself is an example of the skillful water management systems of the past, designed to supply water to Roopmati's Pavilion, which stands nearby. According to legend, the pavilion was where the Sultan Baz Bahadur and his beloved, a pastoral shepherdess named Roopmati, met and gazed upon the Narmada River. The Kund forms a part of the larger ensemble of monuments in Mandu, which is often referred to as the city of Baobabs, for the African trees that were planted here during the medieval period. These ruins amidst the breathtaking landscape are a testimony to the Malwa sultanate’s rich history and are a significant draw for both domestic and international tourists who have an affinity for historical sites and romantic folklore.

Pond
This is just a pond, isn’t it? Nothing special. Nothing unique. No explanation. Nothing Before the ticket gate to Rupmati’s Pavilion. You don’t need to stop here.
