Best Time To Visit Taj Mahal (Agra) In 2026 - 2027

Best Time to Visit the Taj Mahal in Agra

The Taj Mahal, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, is best visited during the cooler months of the year, typically from November to February. During this time, the weather is mild and pleasant, which makes wandering around the sprawling complex much more comfortable. The temperatures during these months range from a refreshing 8°C to a comfortable 22°C. Visiting early in the morning as the gates open can be especially magical, as you may catch the glorious sight of the monument basked in the soft morning light. This is also an excellent time for photography enthusiasts looking to capture the Taj without the midday glare.

It is also advised to avoid visiting the Taj Mahal during the monsoon season from July to September due to heavy rainfall, which can sometimes lead to flooding in the region and may disrupt travel plans. Additionally, the summer months from April to June should be avoided if possible, as the scorching heat with temperatures soaring up to 45°C can make the visit arduous. Regardless of the season, it is important to note that the Taj Mahal is closed to visitors on Fridays. One should also consider visiting during full moon nights for the special night viewing opportunity, which allows an enchanting view of the monument bathed in the moonlight, albeit this is available only on certain days of the month.
